Whether you are interested in receiving information on maintaining your log home or need complete restoration -  a Log Maintenance Inspection can help you get started!

A On-Site Log Home Maintenance Inspection takes
approximately 2-3 hours depending on the size
and condition of your log home. Once the inspection
is complete, we will review your log maintenance
report and discuss the findings.

The Report Includes:

  • Details of any Concerns or Issues Found during the Inspection
  • Recommendations for Repairing and Maintaining the Logs
  • Total Log Surface and Total Linear Feet of Log Seams
(To receive accurate estimates or order log home products)
  • Moisture Meter Reading
  • Log Home Maintenance Book
  • Information Regarding Professional Log Home Finishing Companies
  • Digital Photos

It is important to continue with inspections on a regular basis giving extra attention to areas directly exposed to moisture and sunlight... Your log maintenance report can be used as a guide to perform your own inspections in the future.

                The Inspection Checks for:
  • Signs of Failed Finish
  • Decay
  • UV damage
  • Mold, Mildew, Algae, and Sapstain
  • Signs of Insects and Carpenter Bees
  • Backsplash Concerns
  • Condition of Fascia and Soffit
  • Proper Overhang
  • Excessive Checking
  • Chinking or Caulking Failure
  • Proper Drainage
  • Condition of Log Ends
  • Gaps Between Log Seams
  • Ground Clearance
  • Post and Deck Condition
  • Proper Flashing

If access to the interior... a walk thru will check the overall condition of the interior log walls looking for obvious signs of water damage, insect damage and improper settling.

Off-Site Log Home Maintenance Inspection

All Areas $75

An Off-Site Log Home Maintenance Inspection will help you  learn about the overall maintenance required for your specific log home. We will answer any questions and help you create an overall plan to maintain the logs that fits within your budget.

1. We gather basic information regarding your log home.

2. You submit several exterior photos for review-via email or mail:
Each Log Wall (standing back to include as much of the home as possible)
Close Up of the Finish (including caulking, if applicable)
     Log End
     Any Specific Areas of Concern

3.  We discuss the Finding and Mail Your Maintenance Report.

In most cases, the photos and specifics of your log home such as: design, log profile, log ends, decking, roof overhang, ground clearance, drainage, exposure...  allow us to recognize certain areas that may need to be addressed and steps that can be implemented to prevent problems.

Other issues can not be determined or may not be noticed without an on-site inspection such as: log decay, signs of insects, excessive checking, improper flashing, failed caulking... but we can help provide the tools to help make you aware of any obvious concerns.

At your request we will forward the details to Log Home Professionals for Free Estimates on any services... allowing you to compare Companies, Service and Price.
